Our story
Every village starts somewhere. This is ours.

The beginning of our village:
Village for Mums was created from a place many mums know all too well — feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and like you’re doing it all on your own. After becoming a mum, I realised just how much of a difference it makes to have people around you who understand. Not advice, not judgement — just real connection, support, and someone to sit with you in it.
I kept thinking… why does it feel like we’re all doing this alone when we were never meant to? That’s where the idea for Village for Mums began. I wanted to create a space where mums could show up exactly as they are — tired, overwhelmed, happy, struggling, or somewhere in between — and feel accepted, supported, and not alone.
What started as a simple idea has grown into something really special. A place where connections turn into friendships, and where mums can begin to rebuild that “village” we all need. Because motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

Our goal: No mum walks alone.
The main goal of Village for Mums is to make sure no mum feels like she has to do motherhood alone. We want to create a space where mums feel seen, supported, and connected — not just socially, but emotionally and practically too.
Through genuine connection, community support, and access to the right resources, our aim is to help mums feel more confident, less isolated, and more supported in their day-to-day lives. As Village for Mums grows, we also want to bridge the gap between connection and support — helping mums navigate services, access help when they need it, and feel empowered to reach out without fear or judgement.
At its heart, Village for Mums is about rebuilding the village — creating a community where support is normal, connection is real, and no one has to do this alone.

Why a village matters in Australia
Motherhood can be incredibly isolating, especially in today’s world where many mums are navigating it without the support networks that once came naturally. In Australia, many families live far from extended family, and the day-to-day reality of parenting can feel overwhelming and lonely. Without a village, even the smallest challenges can feel heavy.
Having a community like Village for Mums creates a space where connection replaces isolation. It gives mums the opportunity to be seen, heard, and supported by others who truly understand what they’re going through. It’s not just about social connection — it’s about mental wellbeing, confidence, and knowing there is somewhere you can turn when things feel hard.
A strong community can change a mum’s entire experience of motherhood. It can turn survival mode into something more supported, more connected, and more manageable. Because when mums are supported, families are stronger — and communities thrive.
"Finding Village for Mums was a game-changer. I finally feel understood and supported, like I'm not doing this alone anymore."
